On Monday, November 25, 2024, the Islamic Institute Dar El Huda in Amsterdam hosted an important meeting organized by the New West Interfaith Network (NWIN). The event brought together various religious institutions from different denominations to discuss the topic of “Freedom of Belief.”

In his welcoming speech, Sheikh Abdelilah El Amrani, Director of the Islamic Institute Dar El Huda, emphasized the institute’s commitment to fostering mutual understanding among religions. He highlighted the importance of such meetings in achieving a shared vision of a cohesive society that promotes common human values, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
Sheikh El Amrani expressed his support for this cultural initiative aimed at addressing the issue of freedom of belief in a multicultural environment. He focused on the commonalities between Muslims, Jews, Christians, and other religious groups in the country.

The meeting saw notable participation from church representatives and other organizations. Several topics were discussed, including the challenges and opportunities related to religious freedom. The program featured rich dialogues that strengthened bonds among participants and highlighted the role of religious institutions in promoting tolerance and coexistence.

It is worth mentioning that the NWIN network comprises 15 churches and 16 mosques from the New West area. Its goal is to build bridges of communication between different religions by organizing events that enhance mutual understanding and promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

The meeting concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of continuing such activities and expanding cooperation among religious institutions to strengthen open dialogue and mutual respect in the New West region.
