Promoting dialogue and cooperation among various religious groups, Dutch institutions, and organizations
On the evening of Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Islamic Institute Dar El Huda in Amsterdam hosted an important forum on the topic “Social Cohesion and Its Impact on Community Security,” with the participation of representatives from security institutions, religious figures, and social leaders from diverse backgrounds.

The forum witnessed remarkable positive interaction, led by Dr. Yasser Hotesh, a strategic expert and advisor on countering extremism for the Dutch Ministries of Justice and Security. Prominent attendees included representatives of religious communities, police officials, and civic activists, such as Mr. Yair Sanders, a member of the Liberal Jewish Community of Amsterdam; Bert de Reuter, advisor on Christian-Muslim relations in Europe; businessman Mr. Hamid Kerkberk; along with numerous mosque imams and members of cultural and educational institutions in the Netherlands.

The event was organized as part of efforts to address recent tensions that disrupted the Dutch social landscape, causing security disturbances in Amsterdam and other cities. This critical phase necessitates strengthening solidarity among all components of Dutch society to promote social cohesion and safeguard community security.
In his opening speech, Sheikh Abdelilah El Amrani, Director of the Islamic Institute Dar El Huda in Amsterdam, emphasized the importance of adopting a moderate and balanced discourse. He highlighted examples of Prophet Muhammad’s respect for Jews and Christians and peaceful coexistence within a shared environment.
